Communal singing, much like drumming and group meditation, can connect hearts, co-regulate emotions, and give the participant a sense of well being. Modern life doesn’t have many opportunities for communal singing, where it’s about the experience of singing together rather than a performance. We are excited to share in this opportunity together.

About the Circles:

These gatherings are inspired by the chanting and singing often shared at drum circles and women's circles. During our time together, we will learn and practice chants and songs that we can carry with us. The songs we share will be primarily about mother earth, the goddess, and mystic spirituality. These songs are both uplifting & grounding and learning them will make it easier to join in at events/drum-circles and give you the ability to sing them to yourself while you’re alone. Inspiring music can open our hearts and these songs can be sang alone out in nature or in moments of stress when you need a boost!

The circle begins with about 15 minutes of introduction where we will explore sound moving through the body with OM's and noise making. Next, we will share group singing for about 30 minutes with a lyric sheet and drumming. After this we will enjoy a song or two with optional movement (dancing and singing together). We will also share in a game-like activity to help break the ice and boost confidence and joy while singing. There will be tea available before and after, so you’re welcome to stay afterwards to socialize for a while.
