Sunday, May 12, 2024

2:30-4:30 PM

Amethyst Retreat Center

Located at the Main House at Amethyst Retreat Center: 44 Buffalo Creek Road, Duncannon PA.

This is a meeting of the Harrisburg Ram Dass Satsang. Satsang is spiritual community. We will come together around the teachings of Ram Dass, Neem Karoli Baba, and others and share in our journeys to help each of us along in our own.

Potluck: Feel free to bring food to share! We’ll have Indian spiced chai.

What to Expect:

We will open with a grounding meditation, introduce ourselves, listen to a Ram Dass teaching, reflect and discuss as a group, discuss what we want from satsang, group kirtan, close with a meditation, and then enjoy some food together.

These are free events but we encourage donations to Amethyst Retreat Center if possible.

Ram Dass:

Until 1967, Ram Dass was Dr. Richard Alpert, a prominent Harvard psychologist and psychedelic pioneer with Dr. Timothy Leary. This all changed with a fateful trip to India in 1967. In India, he met his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, who blew Dr. Alpert’s mind. Maharajji gave him the name Ram Dass, which means “servant of God”, and this was the start of his intense dharmic life. He became a pivotal influence on three generations that has reverberated with the words “Be Here Now”. Ram Dass dropped his body in 2019 at the age of 88. His spirit remains a guiding light for those on their journey into loving awareness.  More at: RamDass.org
