Silent 1-Day Retreat
About the teacher: Rebecca Waldemar has had a dedicated meditation and mindfulness practice for over 15 years. These practices, including taking time for periods of silence, have increased in her wellbeing, resiliency, compassion and kindness, peace, ease of being, and overall a much more joyful and satisfying life. She has also studied mindfulness over the last decade or so by extensive study, attending workshops, and applying what she has learned to her own daily life.
Rebecca is an assistant clinical professor of law at Widener Commonwealth Law School where she teaches and practices civil litigation. Her practices of meditation and mindfulness are an integral part of her work life as they help her maintain balance and equanimity in challenging moments and enhance interpersonal skills as well has facilitating focus, insight, creativity, clarity, and mental agility. She also teaches a Law and Mindfulness course for law students which includes a one day silent retreat as part of the class. She has given presentations on mindfulness to attorneys for continuing education credits and currently facilitates a weekly meditation group.
What to expect:
The retreat will include four guided sessions and three sessions on your own lasting about an hour each. Coffee, tea, snacks, and a vegetarian lunch is included. Please send an email if you have dietary restrictions so we can try to accommodate. You will be silent during the entire retreat until the end when we will break our silence together. You are strongly encouraged to leave your cell phone in your car.
