What to ExpectA space to drop into your body and move from authenticity — not performance.
Join us this June on the beautiful, nature-filled grounds of Amethyst Retreat Center for an evening of outdoor music, movement, and connection. This Ecstatic Dance is an invitation to come home to your body, release what you’ve been holding, and experience the freedom of moving exactly as you are.
We’ll begin with a gentle, guided embodied warm-up facilitated by Mia Becker, a somatic practitioner and group facilitator, designed to help you arrive, ground, and reconnect with your body. From there, we’ll transition into a curated musical journey where you’re free to move in whatever way feels natural, expressive, or restorative for you.
No choreography. No expectations. Just you, your body, and the music.
What is Ecstatic Dance?
Ecstatic Dance is a free-form, conscious movement experience where there are no steps to follow and no way to do it “wrong.” It’s part dance, part moving meditation, and part community gathering.
Whether you’re flowing, stretching, shaking, resting, or simply swaying, you’re invited to listen to your body and let it lead. Many people find ecstatic dance to be deeply grounding, emotionally freeing, and energizing — a way to release stress, shift stuck energy, and reconnect with a sense of aliveness and presence.
No dance experience is needed. If you can move your body, you belong here.
The Flow of the Evening
• Opening circle to arrive and set the space
• Guided somatic warm-up to ease into the body
• Ecstatic dance journey (free-form movement)
• Gentle wind-down to integrate and rest
• Closing circle
You’re always welcome to take breaks, rest, or observe at any point.
Guidelines for the Space
To support a safe, immersive, and connected experience, we move with a few shared agreements:
Move as you are
There is no right way to dance. Honor your body, your pace, and your expression.
No talking in the dance area
This helps create a more meditative, embodied experience. Connection happens through movement and presence.
Consent is key
You’re welcome to dance solo or with others. Nonverbal cues guide connection — and “no” is always respected.
Sober, present space
No drugs, alcohol, phones, or photography. This is a space to be fully here.
Who This Is For
This space is for anyone curious about movement, connection, and self-expression — whether you’ve never danced before or have years of experience.
Come as you are. Move as you feel. Leave feeling more alive.
