Dearest Amethyst Community,

First and foremost, thank you to everyone who has woven their essence into the Amethyst Retreat Center (ARC) community over the years. We truly value all of you and wish you continued health and happiness! Through retreats, volunteer days, festivals, workshops, summer camps, and countless other moments, ARC has served as a pillar of connection, joy, and growth for us all.

Today, we are reaching out to you with transparency and humility. It is important that we bring awareness to the financial challenges our beloved Amethyst is facing and ask for your support.

As a nonprofit, we have always relied on donations to sustain the life force of the retreat center. For the past decade, our financial strategy has been to keep facility rental prices, events, and workshops extremely budget-friendly to support our local community. This generosity embodies the heart of Amethyst, and the love and appreciation we've received over the years. This outpouring of love has reassured us that protecting this magical land, as a space to gather, is truly a core part of our mission to serve humanity.

However, as we all know, the cost of living has risen dramatically, and Amethyst has not been immune to this. Despite inflation, we chose not to adjust our prices over the years, hoping to continue serving our community as we always have. Unfortunately, this decision has led to financial losses that we can no longer ignore. The reality of maintaining two older houses and 144 acres of land requires ongoing resources.

The truth is, we need your financial support now more than ever. If you feel called to contribute, now is the time. Our buildings are aging, and we are struggling to keep up with the necessary maintenance. We have often relied on the generosity of our community members for repairs, but the time has come for Amethyst to call upon its people for more substantial support.

Donations have declined in recent years, revealing the financial vulnerabilities of relying heavily on this form of support. After many heartfelt discussions, we have made the difficult decision to raise our rental prices to stabilize our finances, bring ARC out of this challenging situation, and ensure our sustainability for the future. It was the most immediate action we could take that would positively impact Amethyst’s financial flow. We do not take this decision lightly, and we understand its impact on our community. Even with the raise in price, our pricing remains well below market value for a space as unique and special as ours. We pray that those who have found solace and inspiration here will understand and support us through this transition.

We are still actively fundraising and applying for grants to strengthen our financial footing. Once we are more secure, we hope to return to offering donation-based and free events. Until then, please know that every contribution you make goes directly to sustaining the heartbeat of Amethyst.

Please keep Amethyst Retreat Center in your prayers, so it may continue to thrive as a sanctuary for like-minded and open-hearted individuals.
