Amethyst Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated for 25 years to the evolution and development of human potential, creating a culture of wellness and to creating the conditions for learning, healing and living in a holistic and sustainable way. The organization was incorporated in Pennsylvania in 1993 for charitable, educational, and social welfare purposes.
Amethyst Retreat Center sees a local and global culture that values a simpler, sustainable, and higher quality of life for all.
o We are dedicated to equality, respect and inclusion for all peoples, cultures, religions, and life styles
o We are not defined religiously, culturally, or politically. Instead we embrace values that cultivate our highest human potential through connection with each other and Nature.
o We are an intentional community; however, we do not live together in one location. We collaborate and work together on projects that are
meaningful, that fulfill our vision and mission, that are shared with the public and that will be sustained for the benefit of future generations.
We are committed to inspiring, educating, and collaborating with others to discover and experience creative and loving ways of learning, healing, and living:
o where connection with Nature and others is a source of wellness and provides healthy outlets for the anxiety and pain that many people experience.;
o where supporting and caring for others is valued and is a source of wellness;
o where wellness and quality of life for all is nurtured and celebrated.
We have a special interest in supporting the wellness of at risk segments of our society; therefore, in addition to a general offering of events, we offer programs and services for children, women, Veterans, and those at risk for and in recovery from addiction.
o Equality - because human beings all share the desire for wellbeing and quality of life
o Self-empowerment - because the future lies within us
o Gifting – discovering and sharing our gifts of healing, teaching, and living: giving of our skills, our resources, our time, ourselves
o Conscious Choice and Action - by considering the whole and asking "Does this enhance quality of life for me AND others?" If so, proceed, if not, let it go
o Creativity - solving human problems creatively rather than by antidote
o Simplicity in Living - by expressing gratitude rather than seeking more
o Collaboration – we must create this life and world together.
